Sylhet, August 7: At least eight people were killed in a head-on collision between two passenger buses on the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway in Osmaninagar Upazila of Sylhet on Friday morning.The accident occurred at around 7:00 a.m. in the Kashikapon area of the upazila.Aminul Islam, a Sub-Inspector of Osmaninagar Police Station, confirmed the incident.He said that a Unique Paribahan bus and a Bengal Paribahan bus collided head-on, leaving seven people dead at the scene. An injured child later succumbed to injuries at a hospital, raising the death toll to eight. Several other passengers were also injured and have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police are currently working to identify the deceased and injured victims. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
